This design aimed to develop a preventive method that could prevent or alleviate back pain caused by sitting for long periods of time for study or work. Despite sitting in a chair for a long time, these users are ignorant of posture habits that can prevent back pain. The identified opportunities and problems have various causes, such as static posture habits, incorrect posture habits, prolonged sitting, and poor understanding of chair function, as discovered during the research process of this project. This design utilises the elasticity of the material to improve the functional aspect, guides it to the correct posture, and develops the idea of ​​simplifying the adjustment function based on it.

Summary

The design of this office chair was developed based on the idea of ​​cantilever architecture while emphasising ergonomics. The backrest and seat part are developed as an integrated design without the need for adjustment by using the tension of the material. The material used is polypropylene, which is a hard material, but the elasticity of the product leads to a comfortable and correct posture. The armrest is a combination of polypropylene and high elastic band, so it does not require any adjustment, allows you to comfortably place your arm, and provides a feature that does not cause discomfort even when you rest your arm for a long time. Due to the nature of the material, this office chair is highly sustainable and induces correct posture by providing strong support for the hip and lower back without additional adjustment. In this way, it provides a tilting function using the characteristics of the material and provides a function that provides comfort for movement through a flexible frame.
